Banimandir Railway Higher Secondary School, Siliguri junction was established on 1st April, 1963 under the patronage of N.F. Railway. In its journey of more than 60 years, it has excelled in all scholastic and co-scholastic fields with its limited resources. At the one hand it has produces many board toppers, on the other hand many national and international level athletes, footballers, cricketers have come out of this school. In games and sports, the school participated in Subrata Cup, OORJA Cup (2nd runners up in zonal meet) in football, inter railway sport meets, inter school CBSE meets to name a few. At present the school is affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi (Affiliation No. 2480024). 

At present 1100+ students are studying in the school across three section, Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary. Primary Section has 6 classes and 11 sections from Class Pre-Primary to Class V. Secondary Section has 5 Classes and 10 Sections from Class VI to Class X and Higher Secondary Section offers two streams Arts and Science. 

The School strictly adheres to the guidelines of CBSE under administrative purview of N.F. Railway. The school is committed towards excellence not only in the field of scholastic activities but it offers ample scope to the students to excel in the fields of many co-scholastic activities like games & sports, drama and other performing arts under specialized guilines of trained teachers and other dignitories. The contimuous and comprehensive progress of the students is thriving the school with innovative ideas in developmental activities in the field of education.
